About the Role:
- Head of Department for Year 11 and 12 English
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with the Head of English Department for Years 7-10
- Full-time, permanent opportunity
- Term 1, January 2023 Start
- Demonstrate on-going excellence in teaching, administration, professional conduct, relationships with parents and the wider school community.
- Be a curriculum and pedagogy leader and manager of the Department. As Head, you are responsible for all aspects of learning, teaching, assessment and monitoring of the curriculum and be a mentor to other teachers.
- Manage the School's curriculum-based technologies facilities and resources.
- Administer all aspects of the department including budgeting; setting, communicating and meeting school-wide and departmental timelines and deadlines; QCAA and other curriculum requirements; and assessment and reporting requirements
- Possess a genuine passion for young people and their learning
- Modern facilities and resources, with excellent conditions for staff
- Holistic and supportive school environment
Selection Criteria:
- Experience in a Leadership role
- Be suitably qualified with an Education Teaching Degree (qualification must be recognised in Australia)
- Be registered, or can be registered with QCT
- Ability to provide current and relevant teaching references from Middle Management/Executive Leadership level (please note referees will not be contacted prior to your express approval, and all applications are treated in complete confidentiality)
