About the Role:

  • Head of Department for Year 11 and 12 English
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with the Head of English Department for Years 7-10 
  • Full-time, permanent opportunity 
  • Term 1, January 2023 Start 
  • Demonstrate on-going excellence in teaching, administration, professional conduct, relationships with parents and the wider school community. 
  • Be a curriculum and pedagogy leader and manager of the Department. As Head, you are responsible for all aspects of learning, teaching, assessment and monitoring of the curriculum and be a mentor to other teachers. 
  • Manage the School's curriculum-based technologies facilities and resources. 
  • Administer all aspects of the department including budgeting; setting, communicating and meeting school-wide and departmental timelines and deadlines; QCAA and other curriculum requirements; and assessment and reporting requirements
  • Possess a genuine passion for young people and their learning
  • Modern facilities and resources, with excellent conditions for staff
  • Holistic and supportive school environment

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in a Leadership role
  • Be suitably qualified with an Education Teaching Degree (qualification must be recognised in Australia)
  • Be registered, or can be registered with QCT
  • Ability to provide current and relevant teaching references from Middle Management/Executive Leadership level (please note referees will not be contacted prior to your express approval, and all applications are treated in complete confidentiality)
  • Have the right to work in Australia
