Job overview

Ark Start is about so much more than childcare

As a start-up organisation within the Ark Family, we are aiming to transform early education by setting up a network of nurseries delivering excellent, flexible, and affordable early education for under 5s and their families. Ark Start is led by qualified early-years teachers, and chaired by Ark’s Directory of Primary – bringing together the best of the education sector with the flexibility and affordability of the early years childcare sector.

Our model is based on our experience in schools and rooted in research on what works in early years education. The programme is built on a playful, knowledge-rich curriculum and a pedagogy informed by child development. Our ambition is to build a community where children feel happy, safe, and secure – a home form home where children learn by playing and having fun, exploring our classroom, the outdoors and offsite in our community.

We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for working with young children and with the knowledge, skill, creativity, and commitment to lead training and innovation in our partner schools across the Ark Network. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take their first step into leadership, or for someone who is looking to stretch their leadership capability further.

For a full overview of this opportunity, please see the full job description and person specification.

  • Access to high-quality professional learning throughout your career as part of the wider Ark family, including a variety of training sessions and experiences designed to meet your needs
  • Standard school holiday allowance and access to the Teacher Pension Scheme
