Contract Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Fractional hours will be considered.

Location: Paignton, Devon. Delivery may be throughout the South West Peninsular.

In April 2021, South Devon College was the first FE College in the country to have its Nursing Associate programme directly approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). This trailblazing validation comes on the back of news that student applications to healthcare related courses across the college are up by 200 per cent.

With the growth of Tobay and South Devon apprenticeship provision and the Cornwall project, our Health Professions and Nursing team are seeking to recruit lecturers to join the team. As part of the team, you will undertake teaching, clinical facilitation, tutorials, seminars, and student assessment. You will market and promote the provision within the section and support progression internally across the organisation, in addition to working with partners to further improve and increase opportunities for the students and the breadth of provision on offer.

As a professional, you will hold a Health (clinical) related degree or above with appropriate vocational experience. You will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and if not already held, have the willingness to attain a teaching qualification, funded by the College. You will need the ability to work as part of a team with a flexible adaptable approach and the willingness to adapt to timetables as provision requires.

If you think you have what it takes to become a lecturer within the Health Professions and Nursing team, but don’t necessarily meet every point on the person specification or would like more information, please get in touch with Lucy Parkin (Head of Curriculum (Senior) - Health & Care Professions & Nursing) at lucyparkin@southdevon.ac.uk or call 01803540377.

Benefits as follows: 37 days Holiday plus 8 Bank Holiday days (pro rata for fractional); Christmas Closure days (up to 5 days); Membership of the Teachers' Pension Scheme; Life Assurance (if member of pension scheme); On Site Nursery (Mama Bears); Fitness Suite Facilities; Staff Discounts (Inspirations – Hair & Beauty, Totum Student Cards, membership of the Sodexo Employee Discounts Platform); 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, Holiday Purchase Scheme; Discounted Stagecoach Bus Pass, and many others.
