The Sheffield College – City Campus
This is an exciting opportunity for someone seeking to develop their career as a 0.6 FTE Main Grade Lecturer in Highways provision (Construction & the Built Environment). The Sheffield College City Campus located in the heart of Sheffield, 5 minutes’ walk from the main train station. However, the role will require you to be mobile when it comes to the delivery aspect and flexible to meet the needs of the provision. It may also involve working away from home when required.
Over the last 3 years the Construction Department has experienced significant growth in our student base due to high demand and our links with industry have also stimulated growth in apprenticeships.
We are now seeking to appoint a highly qualified and enthusiastic highways specialist to deliver this aspect of the curriculum up to L2 on our City & Guilds courses. The College has high standards of practice, and associated success rates are expected to be achieved. Your strengths will be industry based in Highways and teaching experience. The post involves teaching to students on a range of vocational courses, both full time, part time and apprencticeships (both frameworks and standards).
You will also be expected to contribute to the ongoing curriculum and team development. The successful candidate should either hold a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards achieving one for candidates applying straight from industry or for those that have minimal teaching experience.
Please refer to the job role descriptor for a more detailed description.
You will join our outstanding team, will be self-motivated and be part of a successful and growing department with Excellence, Employability, Enterprise and Engagement at its core.
