Oldbury Academy is a large secondary school, serving ca 1400 11-16 year olds and is part of the Stour Vale Academy Trust. Ofsted inspected our school in December 2022 and judged us to be ‘GOOD’ in all categories. Ofsted concluded that “pupils at this school receive a good education” and “it is well led and school leaders are committed to further improvements”.

The Role

Oldbury Academy Creative Arts Faculty are looking someone who is passionate about Music and the Creative Arts.  Due to maternity leave, we are looking for someone to complete the missing piece of our jigsaw.

Can you meet the challenge of equipping young people with the knowledge and passion of performance?

Our Creative Arts faculty consists of Music, Dance, Art and Drama. The successful candidate will help our Music department to thrive, developing extra-curricular opportunities, build students’ confidence in performance and elevating the profile of Music both within our school and beyond.

The successful candidate will primarily be teaching Music, however, they will also be delivering lessons across other Creative Arts subjects, these lessons will be fully planned as we have a well-embedded curriculum plan in place, with teaching resources, not to mention supportive specialists in each area.

·               Working alongside a team of fantastic teachers and who are committed to accelerating attainment in the Arts.

·               A bespoke KS3 curriculum, informed by the National Curriculum.

·               A KS4 programme following the BTEC Tech Award in Music Practice route.
