The Role
In this new role reporting to the CEO you will provide advice to them and to the Executive Team based on Business Intelligence analysis (including national and local education, skills and training policy).
You will:
* Develop relationships with key external stakeholders with a view to understanding fully initiatives and intended directions and local priorities
* Identify, communicate and suggest actions in response to emerging policy
* Provide analysis of and commentary on aspects of College performance
* Support the planning and execution of custom research to provide detailed insights across business areas
* Provide assessment of competitor analysis and suggest any required actions
The Person
You will be:
* Experienced and aware of the education, skills and training sector in terms of government agendas and policies
* Skilled in critical thinking i.e. Analysis, Evaluation, Interpretation, Problem-Solving, Creative Thinking, Reasoning
* Highly analytical and able to transform data into insights and recommendations
* Diplomatic, a team player with excellent influencing skills and an ability to build and leverage a strong network of peers and partners
* skilled communicator in terms of written, oral and formal presentations

About Derby College
Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.
Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
