Global academic results

The 2021-2022 school year was one of the strongest ever in terms of Nord Anglia Education’s academic results. For the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, our students achieved a 35.1 global point average, far exceeding the global average of 31.9. A third of students earned a perfect score of 45. In the A-levels, our students achieved 60.5% of grades at A*-A, along with 77.3% at A*-B. The group’s latest IGCSE student cohort, consisting of 2,351 students across 41 Nord Anglia schools, achieving an outstanding set of results, with 52.8% of grades at 9 – 7 for the year and 90.8% at 9 – 4.

About the role

Join our fast-paced international environment, and you will deliver UK National Curriculum and IGSCE and International Baccalaureate programmes. You will challenge your students to set ambitious targets for themselves and seek out and use innovative teaching practices to enhance our students’ experiences and outcomes.

About you

With the ability to create a classroom culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved, you will have a university degree in your specialist subject, a teaching qualification plus considerable teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum. Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues and peers.

A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement, and personal investment within the classroom. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Slovakia including holding a degree in the subject specialism.

Key tasks and responsibilities (See Job Description)

  • To undertake an appropriate programme of teaching IB Psychology (HL/SL) Year 12-13 and IGCSE Business Studies
  • To use a variety of methodologies which will stimulate learning appropriate to student needs and the demands of subject specifications
  • To develop appropriate specifications, resources, schemes of work, marking policies, and teaching and learning strategies in your curriculum area
  • To plan and prepare lessons as well as contribute towards ever-developing schemes of work
  • To undertake assessment of students as requested by external examination bodies and faculty/departmental procedures
  • To monitor and keep records of student progress, including regular input to the database system
  • To mark, grade and give both written and verbal feedback on students’ work on a frequent, regular basis, with attention to individual learning based on assessment.
  • To help to monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the faculty/department, including those with special educational needs,
  • To write detailed individual reports and to keep accurate student records of progress and effort against standard criteria
  • To attend faculty & parents meetings as required
  • A willingness to take part in related extra-curricular activities, both locally and nationally, would also be expected.
