Job overview

Independent Co-educational Boarding & Day School for 425 pupils

                                                            aged 11 -18

                                           REQUIRED SEPTEMBER 2018 or

                                                         JANUARY 2019

                                                     Teacher of Biology

Box Hill School is a co-educational community of 425 girls and boys aged 11 to 18, whose educational ideals and practice are designed to get the best out of each student. The school follows the philosophy of Kurt Hahn, founder of Gordonstoun in Scotland: while placing academic work at the heart of a school, Hahn stressed the importance of an all-round education as a preparation for life.

We are seeking to appoint a strong Biology Teacher who is confident with taking on classes up to and including A level/IB. It would also be a strong advantage for the candidate to be happy to teach a second science up to GCSE, if required. There is also an option to teach IB Environmental systems and Society course but this is not a requirement. Responsibility and remuneration would be available for this role though it is also being advertised separately.

This role would be for a September or January 2019 start. Strong NQTs are welcome to apply. Training for IB will be provided and no prior experience of the diploma is required.

We aim to appoint colleagues who will involve themselves whole-heartedly within our community and who see teaching as a way of life, not just a job.

This is an extension to the previous advertisement and the school reserves the right to appoint at any time it sees fit. We welcome early applications and applications will be considered on receipt.
