Job overview

The Cottesloe School is a successful and oversubscribed Foundation Secondary School with Sixth Form situated in the village of Wing in rural North Buckinghamshire, located conveniently for Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

We are a caring school with highly qualified and exceptionally committed staff, who recognise the importance of creative and challenging teaching and high professional standards.  All staff and students are greatly valued and emphasis on student and staff wellbeing is central to our culture.

* Ofsted rated Good in all areas - July 2016

* CPD Award Mark of Outstanding

We are looking for a dynamic part-time (0.6) teacher with a desire to help drive and develop a flourishing department with ideas that enthuse, engage and enhance student learning.  You will need to demonstrate a vision of how the learning of Science could look in the future.  Specialisms in Chemistry or Physics would be an advantage. There is the possibility of a TLR for a suitable candidate.

We can offer you an exciting opportunity to work in a welcoming and supportive environment for students and staff alike. Our students are courteous and have a high degree of respect for others. They are proud of their school and enjoy learning. Parents are positive about the behaviour of students and say they are managed well and staff are similarly positive (Ofsted July 2016).

This is an ideal opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher to undertake their induction training in a school with a proven track record of providing excellent professional support for all staff, or for an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or return to teaching in a supportive and welcoming school.

We would consider a start date of January 2022 for the right candidate.

Early Career Teachers are able to commence employment from July 2021.

Please contact Mrs Claire Hooley  (Head of Science from September) if you would like to discuss this role further: chooley@cottesloe.bucks.sch.uk; for further information about our school please see our website www.cottesloe.bucks.sch.uk

Completed application forms should be emailed to recruitment@cottesloe.bucks.sch.uk.  We will review applications upon receipt, and early application is advised.

The Cottesloe School is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and offers of employment will be subject to Enhanced DBS clearance, and satisfactory qualification, health and reference checks.  The school's policy is to renew DBS checks every five years.
