We are very much a family school and are pleased to offer an education across the age range. Our Pre-School for 2½ to 4 year olds, the Junior School for children aged 4 to 11 and a Senior School for students aged 11 to 18, are all dedicated to helping girls and boys thrive and to reach their potential. 

Teaching Assistants work term time only to include all Professional Development Days (INSET) as set out in the school calendar. In addition, there is a requirement to support a small number of events and information evenings each academic year and overtime will be paid for attendance at these events and evenings.

During school terms the hours of work are 25 hours per week from 08.00 to 13.00 each day. The first half hour of each day from 8.00am to 8.30am is to support the provision of morning care. 

This role is to support across Years 3-6 as required and to have specific responsibilities as technician across Science, Art and DT. Full training will be provided for this aspect of the role.

Teaching Assistants (TAs) in the Junior School work under the direction and supervision of teachers in order to help promote effective learning and teaching and report to the Deputy Head of the Junior School.

All candidates should hold a relevant childcare qualification to at least NVQ Level 3, completed in full, and will be asked to provide their original qualification certificates as part of the interview process.

The start date will be as soon as possible in January 2023.

ISI Report 2022

During an ISI Inspection in late 2022 both the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development and the personal development of the pupils were found to be excellent - the highest possible classification. The Inspection also looked at the School’s compliance with the regulatory standards and requirements. PGS met all the standards required.
