Location: Sutton SM1 2SW – travel to other locations will be required

Working Pattern: 36 hours/5 days per week all year round (39 working weeks)

We have eight vibrant community-based College Centres across London and Surrey where committed, specialist teams deliver a range of programmes to meet the needs of over 400 students.

Students who study with us have a wide range of needs including profound and multiple learning disabilities, communication and behavioural difficulties and specific medical needs. All students are individuals, and their learning programmes are designed to support and empower them to achieve their aspirations and goals, whilst developing skills to become more independent members of their community.

We are looking for a personable, motivated professional to work closely with our WorkStart students. The role requires a self-starter who is able to build excellent links with potential employers. WorkStart lecturers proactively support our students to develop job searching skills, access work placements, develop their English and Maths skills in the classroom, and ultimately progress into employment.

If you have experience of working effectively with students with SEND or barriers to learning and you have the drive and tenacity to establish networks with external stakeholders, we would love to hear from you. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of having delivered functional skills sessions and employability lessons, ensuring that students with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities and barriers to learning from Entry to Level 2 are supported in developing work skills to enable them to enter employment.
