The Maths Vault Mystery - Escape Room Style Game (covers key mathematical concepts)

Bring problem-solving to life with The Maths Vault Mystery — a collaborative KS2 maths escape-room style challenge where pupils work together to crack codes, solve clues and unlock a mystery vault.

This resource includes 18 maths challenge cards linked to 6 different combination locks, with each lock requiring a 3-digit code. Pupils work in pairs or small groups to solve one challenge at a time, gradually uncovering digits that contribute to the whole-class mission.

Challenges cover a wide range of upper KS2 maths skills, including:

Arithmetic, coordinates, word problems, angles, fractions, decimals, data handling, area, perimeter, volume, prime numbers, BODMAS, algebra, Sudoku-style logic and number properties.

Each task is designed so pupils can contribute even if they only find one digit, promoting teamwork, resilience and mathematical discussion.

Includes a themed “vault mystery” style throughout, with lock colours, codebreaker cards and a final hidden key challenge.
