Pentominoes

Pentominoes

A pentomino is made of five equally sized squares connected edge-to-edge. There are 12 distinct pentomino shapes. The pentominoes are manipulated (rotated/flipped) to solve puzzles. This packet contains a workbook with 8 fun activities and 24 pentomino puzzles that you can use in your learning centers, early finishers station, and team games. There are two sets that can be used at the same time to provide differentiated options for different students. Pentomino Set 1 This set contains puzzles that show the individual outlines of the shapes. You can use them for beginners level. Pentomino Set 2 This set contains puzzles without the individual outlines of the shapes. You can give these puzzles to students who are more advanced or who want more challenge. Choose the set you want to use in class. Print them on letter-size paper and laminate for durability. Please note that black and white versions are also available to save ink.

Tangrams

Tangrams

A tangram is a traditional Chinese puzzle that consists of seven pieces called tans. The seven pieces include one square, one parallelogram, and five triangles. Arranged correctly, the puzzle pieces can be fitted together to create a larger shape. They can form a square, a triangle, or a rectangle. They can also form complex shapes such as helicopter, house, or rocket ship. This packet contains 35 tangram puzzles that you can use in your spatial learning centers, early finishers station, and team games. The two sets can be used at the same time to provide differentiated options for different students. Tangram Puzzles Set 1 This set contains puzzles that show the individual outlines of the shapes. You can use them for beginners level. Tangram Puzzles Set 2 This set contains puzzles without the individual outlines of the shapes. You can give these puzzles to students who are more advanced or who want more challenge. Choose the set you want to use in class. Print them on letter-size paper and laminate for durability. Shape to Shape Match - 2D Shapes, Shape Mat Shape Cards and Labels Practical Fun Activity

Shape to Shape Match - 2D Shapes, Shape Mat Shape Cards and Labels Practical Fun Activity

This is a fun matching hands-on activity working with 2D shapes. Aimed at: Early Years/Year 1, SEN and children learning English. <strong>Content:</strong> Ten sets of Shape Match Mats – Set 1 to Set 12 Ten sets of Shape Cards – Set 1 to Set 12 Labels for shapes Shapes used: square, circle, triangle, rectangle, oval, pentagon, diamond/rhombus, heart, star, crescent and trapezium shape. The mats are whole page landscape and should be printed onto card and laminated. Enlarge to A3 and get children to work in pairs to match the shapes. Each mat displays various shapes in different positions, size and colour. For each mat there are sets of shapes which should be printed onto card or good quality paper and then cut out ready for the children to start the matching activity. The cut out shapes are placed on top of the correct shapes shown on the Shape Mat. The shape, colour and size should match. More than one shape card can be placed on top of a shape. This is an opportunity for children to count the number of matching shapes, describe colours and shapes. Included are shape labels - you may want to use these to revise shapes with the children. I keep the numbered sets together so that they do not get mixed up, i.e. Set 1 Shape Cards stored away with Shape Match Mat 1; Set 2 Shape Cards kept with Shape Match Mat 2 etc. Please have a look at the preview pane. Thank you for visiting my shop and hope your students enjoy the matching activities. Total download: 42 whole page landscape
