This lesson has been tweaked to encompass the lack of a link with Geography and careers with the students in our school. The main activity involves a worksheet that shows students a diversity of different careers stemming from two teachers within my department (myself and another). It is hoped that this increases students choosing Geography for GCSE. The lesson is as follows: Settler: Why choose Geography video Homework: Students are given links to research roles within Geography and with what has been completed in Geography, Starter: What is included in OCR B GCSE Geography. Main: Hurricane experience as part of Global Hazards unit of work with Tweet activity. Main (2): Careers activity based on university graduates from two teachers in Geography with worksheet. Development: Trips completed in Geography. Plenary: Questions.

Christmas Oddities Through The Ages

Presentation is designed for use in tutorial time and/or assemblies as a lead up to the Christmas break. 28 unusual, and in some cases little known, events relating to the Christmas festival are described and discussed. The presentation is mainly concerned with the secular aspect of the holiday although there are some references to the religious nature. For maximum effect presentation should be used on an interactive board or large screen display. Hyperlinks are embedded throughout the presentation and there are 31 slides in total.

These free resources are companion pieces to the My name is Tom - Your Whole School production and are for KS 2, 3 and 4. Drawing on the experiences of Schools, pupils and their parents, the three resources cover a range approaches: **Presentation: ** Looks at some of the issues explored in the development of this project and the work we did in a Primary School and in particular the need for using a range of approaches, for a problem that keeps on changing. **1. How did we get here: **briefly explores the issues of technology, consumerism, the role of adults and family breakdown; with pertinent questions from each issue for discussion. **2. Whole School Materials: **Offers a range of cross curricular activities to bring the whole school together; plus a range of assemblies, workshops and presentations available to schools and other communities. 3. The Interviews The project was pleased to interview people with stories to share; A working Mother with children aged between 24 years and 3 years -how times have changed. Members of the Enfield Parent Engagement Panels with a wide range of thoughts and experiences. Finally Liz Sorton - a very experienced Youth Coach and Trainer, with plenty to say and it is sound advice.
