3 new (chunk-based) GCSE revision quickies (2018)

3 new (chunk-based) GCSE revision quickies (2018)

A new set of GCSE revision quickies that are chunk-based and focus on collocation and lexical priming. These new revision quickies complement the ones I have previously created. Why you should use them: they reflect the way humans learn languages - through chunks and lexical patterns rather than single words. So the focus here is on developing a repertoire of ready-to-use phrases recycled over and over again.

LA DEPENDANCE year 9/GCSE French (addictions, facts about France, authentic French material)

LA DEPENDANCE year 9/GCSE French (addictions, facts about France, authentic French material)

The lesson starts by teaching vocabulary on a range of addictions then moving on o practising this vocabulary in two high level reading tasks. The lesson then focuses about 'le tabac en France' using some authentic French anti-tabac campains and adverts to push students using more difficult content. This is a good opportunity to discuss coping strategies that are needed at GCSE level.
