Full Lesson PowerPoint (including equipment list and practical instructions) sufficient to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lesson on performing Exothermic and Endothermic reactions, and measuring temperature change in those reactions. The lesson builds in a small iPad research segment which could easily be substituted with textbooks/reference books if iPads are not available. This resource is accessible for students, easy for technicians and teachers to follow and is appropriate for Combined and Triple Science classes, Foundation and Higher tiers.

This resource has been produced to help introduce Y10 students to some revision and organisation strategies, in preparation for a mock Chemistry exam. There is a link to the AQA Trilogy specification and revision tips. Information is given on how to use the "free science lessons" channel on YouTube. Checklists for the first 5 Chemistry topics are included with space for RAG rating and next steps notes. Check lists also have links to the appropriate "Free Science Lessons" videos on YouTube.

Generating Energy Wordsearch Sheet Keywords KS3 Settler Starter Cover Lesson Science Physics

Wordsearch on the theme of 'Generating Energy'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!
