About Akademeia High School
Akademeia High School is an international, academically-selective school in Warsaw, offering A Levels and GCSEs. We are an accredited UCAS centre and Edexcel (Pearson) and AQA examination centre for the English GCE Advanced Levels. We have also prepared a special intensive SAT/ACT exam course for students who are interested in applying to American universities.
We offer IGCSEs and A Levels alongside Akademeia Assessed Courses, which supplement and go beyond the prescribed UK Examination Boards’ curricula. In years 10 and 11 students take interdisciplinary Akademeia Assessed Courses and iGCSEs subjects.
All students at Akademeia High School work towards A Level exams, giving them the opportunity to build their own academic profile from the wide variety of subjects on offer. This unique approach, which is tailored to the students’ greatest strengths, allows them to develop several valuable skills, such as critical thinking, effective communication and problem solving.
Our school focuses on developing both students’ academic abilities and their artistic, athletic and leadership potential. The majority of our students are preparing to study at Oxbridge, Russell group, and Ivy League universities as well as acclaimed architecture, art and music schools. The school offers a substantial scholarship program with about 10% of students being scholars.
Our mission
We strive to help our students realise their intellectual and creative ambitions and stretch their abilities in our pre-university university environment. We provide a pathway to the leading universities across the globe and prepare our students for the ever-changing world.
With critical thinking at the heart of our curricula, we nurture student agency, encourage dialogue, and follow an interdisciplinary approach to develop in our pupils a lifelong passion for learning.
Multidimensional education
By understanding the requirements of the best universities in the world, we take care of the academic achievements on the one hand and we actively promote the personal development of our students (participation in volunteer activities, internships, competitions, workshops) on the other.
We place great emphasis on critical thinking and we believe it is important to develop our students’ varied competences, such as: communication and presentation, creativity and innovation, teamwork and project management, critical thinking and problem solving, ability to collect, filter and absorb information.

I have never worked in a school where the faculty was so excited about their own subjects. The teachers are interested and interesting. They have all got a story to tell. They pass on that excitement to the students.
- Mr Kingsley, Teacher of MathematicsShortly speaking, diagnostics is a real eye opener. As parents, we think we know our child very well but as it turns out, there are many things we are not even aware of. It’s very important to get to know both the strong side of our child as well as his weaknesses, which need some work to be done.
- Student’s parentsI would never have been accepted by Oxford with my IB exams results! Never ever! A Level gave me the opportunity to chose the subjects I was good at and interested in. I could easily focus on three subjects, I was predisposed to and that was it! I got accepted and I’ve studied the major, I’ve wanted.
