1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2

Knavesmire Primary School are looking to recruit an experienced person to work with two children in school with Autism Spectrum Condition on a 1:1 basis. It would be working with a child in Year 3 in the morning and a child in Year 1 in the afternoon. The key stage one (Year 1) child in afternoons also has visual impairment.

Specific duties for this role include:

·        working on a 1:1 basis with a child with complex needs namely Autism Spectrum Condition.

·        supporting the child in every aspect of their learning whilst they are in school.

·        being aware of changes in the child’s persona and acting accordingly.

·        working with class teachers to ensure work is planned accordingly and work as part of a team.

The person we are looking for will have experience of working in a similar role, and an awareness of children’s development and learning. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills in order to build relationships with a range of staff, children, young people and their families and carers.

This is a term time only, fixed term role (until 31 August 2026) for 32.5 hours per week (8.40am to 3.40pm, Monday to Friday).

Interviews will be held during the week commencing 20 February 2023.
