Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic practitioner and leader to play a pivotal role as Assistant Head (Academic) at South Hampstead High School; the 2022 Independent Girls’ School of the Year.

You will make a significant contribution to the school’s strategy, working with members of the Senior Leadership Team as appropriate to establish and execute the academic strategy and initiatives, as well as support the day-to-day delivery of excellent education in Years 7 to 13.

As a senior member of staff, you will also be expected to act as a source of advice and support and will be responsible for leading and supporting the work of other members of the academic team, working closely with the Deputy Head (Academic) in doing so.

You will need excellent leadership and management skills and will have the ability to command respect as a first-rate classroom teacher. In order to lead by example, you will therefore possess excellent professional knowledge and understanding and possess a positive attitude and approach to change and development.
