We are looking for an Assistant Head with proven ability in the development of classroom practice as well as experience of whole school leadership. Your role will be to ensure that an engaging curriculum and highly effective use of assessment drive exemplary teaching and learning across the school. The Assistant Headteacher is part of the Senior Leadership Team, collectively driving school improvement, with specific responsibility for the development and delivery of the curriculum and all aspects of assessment. The successful candidate will be experienced in using a wide range of data at a strategic level to evaluate and plan. They will have outstanding practice in their current position and demonstrate the ability to lead and manage staff across a diverse school community.   

The Assistant Headteacher role is currently non class based to facilitate maximum impact on attainment and progress across the school. However, there will be daily teaching responsibility and may include some class responsibility in the future.   

The successful candidate will lead the middle managers and support the development of learning and teaching. They will ensure exciting and innovative teaching strategies engage pupils and have a significant impact on progress. The role demands a clear understanding of how the learning environment and assessment for learning facilitate exceptional outcomes.  

This amazing leader needs to: 

• Model consistently good and outstanding, inclusive classroom practice  

• Ensure assessment and moderation systems are accurate, rigorous and robust 

• Be committed to providing a wide range of experiences that will inspire and embed learning  

• Demonstrate passion for learning and raising standards  

• Be able to work creatively to engage wider family in children’s learning  

• Be committed to our nurturing ethos in order to grow confident and happy learners 

• Enjoy being an active part of a dynamic focussed team
