Bluecoat Primary Academy is part of Archway Learning Trust, based in the heart of the city of Nottingham providing high quality learning experiences for our students from the ages 3 – 18. The Trust was previously Bluecoat Academies Trust formed in April 2014 as a result of the very long and successful history of Bluecoat Academy. The Trust comprises of Bluecoat Aspley Academy which includes the Sixth Form, Bluecoat Wollaton Academy, Bluecoat Beechdale Academy, Bluecoat Primary Academy and The Nottingham Emmanuel School.
Bluecoat Primary Academy is seeking an aspiring or experienced middle leader to be based in Key Stage 2, ideally for an April 2018 start. This vacancy represents an exciting time to be part of a developing academy which has clear direction, strong leadership and a well-established set of values. The Classroom Teacher & Lead for Maths will be an excellent Key Stage 2 practitioner who can bring leadership skills, passion, commitment and creativity to our enthusiastic, forward-thinking team.

We are currently working towards developing a truly inspiring curriculum that enables students to leave the academy with good knowledge, great skills and a breadth of experience that will go alongside their high standards of academic achievement to open up a world of opportunities for them in the future. In order to achieve this, we need to develop our leadership team and therefore require a Maths Leader to help to shape the future of the core subject.
This post offers a great opportunity for someone who has an excellent knowledge of effective teaching and learning of Maths, is good at creative problem-solving, and is looking to take a really active role in leadership in order to bring about lasting change.
The children we serve at Bluecoat Primary Academy are from very diverse backgrounds and so our approach needs to be flexible, understanding and adaptive, whilst staying true to our strong Christian ethos and maintaining focus on our core values.
We aim to be the best that we can be and wan to develop our staff to fulfil this. We seek candidates who have a strong commitment to delivering high standards of teaching and learning to all – from those who need additional support, right through to children who need high levels of challenge. We seek candidates who can also bring out the best in children from a range of backgrounds and with a range of needs;
Ideally candidates will be available to commence this exciting new post from 16th April 2018 with this being discussed in further detail at interview stage.
Whilst employed to work predominantly at Bluecoat Primary Academy, there may be a requirement for the post holder to work across any of the sites that comprise Archway Learning Trust in accordance with the needs of the Trust.
