Location:        Smallbrook School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Salary:                   £23,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications 

  • *Starting from £23,000 (Unqualified Teacher/Instructor) 
  • *Starting from £28,000 (ECT) to £32,000 per annum (Qualified Teachers) 

Hours:                   37.5 Hours per week; Monday to Friday 9:00 to 16:30

Contract:        Permanent; Term Time only

This is a great opportunity Teacher who is looking to start or continue their career in Education and is motivated to inspire learning in children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

Purpose of Job

  • To ensure that the special educational needs of pupils are met by providing a consistent and efficient service congruent with the organisation’s aim, objectives and philosophy
  • To provide high quality educational services that meet the needs of young people with Special Educational Needs SEMH or ASD
  • To deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils with SEN, working to a range of qualification levels to include; BTEC Level 1 and 2. National Curriculum for KS2 and KS3
  • To flexibly adapt teaching methods for lessons taught in groups, paired, 1:1 and outreach sessions. Utilising extensive knowledge and experience bases in working with young people with SEN / SEMH / ASD to adjust teaching styles to meet individual learner needs
  • To know, understand and role model OFG’s cultural and behavioural expectations as leading provider of therapeutic childcare and employer of choice
  • To know, understand and promote OFG’s service delivery as a leading provider of therapeutic childcare, as a commercial ambassador for the company

Smallbrook School is a specialist SEMH provision set in the heart of the Shropshire countryside and are specialists in reengaging the young people who join our family with their education. 

Our school has facilities for and can accommodate up to 50 students. Our class sizes are a maximum of four students but are mostly less. 

Smallbrook School has a range of learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties which require a significantly higher level of support. The education we provide gives our young people the experience of achievement as well as the qualifications they need to get on in the world.

The school promotes a safe and supportive learning environment in which pupils are valued and can clearly see our high expectations of them. 

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to children, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
