Ambitions Academies Trust (AAT) comprises schools from all sectors: mainstream (primary and secondary) and special. AAT secures outstanding achievement and improved life chances of all our pupils. All our Academies have high expectations as the focus of their work. We are strongly committed to supporting colleagues in developing their careers further and offer excellent CPD opportunities.

We currently have the following vacancy at Trust Head Office, Evering Ave, BH12 4JG.

The Estates Director is a key leadership role within the Trust, overseeing the effective and efficient development and maintenance of our physical infrastructure as well as the oversight of all new capital projects. We have a challenging and exciting ongoing capital programme that will genuinely deliver life-changing projects for our students. Those projects, completed in close partnership with government, are often significant in size and include individual projects that would be valued in the range of JCT minor works.

The post holder will ensure the successful delivery of the Trust's capital programme (alongside managing the Estates team’s delivery of minor works projects) to time, budget, and quality constraints in order that the Trust can continue to grow to meet our ambitious targets and remain a high-quality educational institution with facilities that meet the demands of modern pedagogies.

We need our senior leaders to be hands-on and connected with the realities of the day-to-day operation of the estate. The post holder must have the confidence to present solutions across a complex range of strategically critical areas. The post holder will be actively leading their own projects alongside the supervision of others to support the AAT mission of outstanding outcomes for the young people we support through the efficient use of public funding and assets.

The post holder will have relevant experience managing projects and processes of sufficient breadth and depth, with appropriate knowledge or interest in improving the physical estate and associated facilities. The post holder will be a proficient agent of change and continuous improvement; and will be meticulously well organised, driven and able to work fully on their own initiative to a range of deadlines whilst inspiring and managing others to succeed in sometimes demanding circumstances. The role will include responsibility for statutory compliance across our facilities and ensuring the Health and Safety needs of the Trust are met.

We can offer you:

  • An ambitious, supportive Trust which is inclusive and passionate about staff wellbeing;
  • The opportunity to be an advocate for the transition to sustainable operations;
  • A genuine commitment to your personal and professional growth.

You will offer us:

  • A track record of successful leadership and management;
  • An ability to think strategically, innovatively and creatively;
  • An understanding of budget management.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work across our family of academies creating exciting learning spaces for the communities we support.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Executive Team and will be line managed by the Chief Executive Officer.
