Job overview
Advert for a First Aid Community Advocate role.
No one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between life and death, and you can help us do this.
Our First Aid Community Advocate’s role is to help raise the profile of first aid within the local community by helping us spread awareness of the first aid message and demonstrate practical lifesaving skills. All of your work ensures that as many people as possible are equipped with the skills to be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
No previous training is required – it will all be provided – we just look for people with a passon for first aid and a desire to help inform others about life saving skills.
For more information please contact Claire Myanard, Regional Community Development Officer (East), Claire.Maynard@sja.org.uk.
The closing date for this post is Friday 23rd February 2018 and interviews will be Friday 3rd March 2018

About St John Ambulance (SJA)
At St John Ambulance we believe everyone should get the chance to learn how to save a life, so that whenever a first aid emergency occurs, whether in the home, workplace or community, someone is on hand with the skills to help.
Every year, 400,000 people learn first aid through our training programmes, including hundreds of thousands of young people. Our volunteers provide first aid in their communities, keeping people safe at events, and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls. We generate around £100m per annum which we reinvest in delivering and campaigning for better access to first aid for everyone. By doing this, we can give people the chance to learn basic first aid skills that they wouldn't otherwise get the opportunity to learn.
First aid is such a simple skill, but it has an incredible impact.
We want everyone to learn it, so that they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
