St Thomas More Language College

The school is seeking a professional and highly motivated school governor to join the governing body at this outstanding oversubscribed mixed comprehensive in the heart of Chelsea.

Foundation governors are appointed by the Archbishop to serve as his representative on the governing body of diocesan schools to ensure the Catholic Church’s mission is upheld.

Governors have oversight of the curriculum and the appointment of staff and are accountable for the performance of the school. They have a strategic role to play as well as acting as a critical friend to the Headteacher. 

The governing body needs people with a mixture of skills and experience. Training is provided to help governors fulfil their very important role.

About St Thomas More Language College

St Thomas More Language College is a co-educational voluntary aided school based in Kensington and Chelsea in London for students aged 11-16. It is a Roman Catholic school.

At the heart of the school’s buildings stands its chapel. Mass is celebrated at the beginning of each school day. In tutor groups, each morning there is also a daily act of worship composed around a whole school theme. 

The school also has a house system and throughout the year there are a variety of inter-house competitions.
