About the role
The Head of Religious Education and Citizenship will be directly responsible for teaching and learning within the subject and will be line-managed by the Head of Humanities. There is a well-developed Citizenship and personal development curriculum in place, taught by a Citizenship specialist. Therefore, the initial priority for this role will be the development of the Religious Education curriculum including introducing a GCSE offer for the first time. Compass School Southwark is a small and friendly four-form entry, mixed, 11-16 free school that opened in September 2013. We are ideally located just a short walk from Bermondsey Tube Station. Compass School will move into a new state-of-the-art building on the neighbouring site in 2023 so this is a fantastic time to be joining our community.
