Job overview
Two outstanding teachers are sought to take up the leadership of Faulkner’s, Bradfield’s co-educational boarding house for Year 9 pupils. The Heads of Faulkner’s work closely as a team, but one takes responsibility for the boys’ side and one for the girls’.
These important roles are designed to enhance the experience of pupils and support their progress within a thriving, distinctive and innovative co-educational boarding house. Both the Head of Faulkner’s Girls and the Head of Faulkner’s Boys report to the Deputy Head (Pastoral), and play an important part in setting the ethos and tone of this vital year in a pupil’s journey at Bradfield.
Faulkner’s has a group of 59 girls and 99 boys currently. Both of the Heads of Faulkner’s will be responsible for promoting and fostering high expectations for all the pupils in that year. As well as working closely together, the post holders will be expected to support and coordinate the pastoral and academic wellbeing of all the pupils in their care and to lead an experienced team of matrons and tutors.
The successful candidates will have an established record of working within a school and experience of providing pastoral support for young people, ideally with pupils in this age group. Experience in a boarding or day house would be seen as beneficial as well as evidence of contributing to the academic, pastoral, moral and co-curricular development of young people in their care.
Candidates should submit a letter outlining their suitability for the post, together with a completed Application Form, to the Headmaster, Dr Christopher Stevens, Bradfield College, Bradfield, Berkshire RG7 6AU.
Applications are welcomed from individuals or couples. There is family accommodation on both the boys’ and girls’ sides where the Heads of Faulkner’s reside.
All candidates are required to complete an application form.
