A brief context of the school

Eggbuckland Vale Primary is a vibrant 2-form entry school in Plymouth, with a popular school-led nursery and a fully integrated 18 place Deaf Education Centre. Wendy Cording (retiring) has been a successful headteacher here since 2011 and has developed the school and its curriculum to become a highly inclusive provision for 400 children, with strong relationships between children, staff, leaders, parents, the LA and local community. The curriculum has a curiosity theme and the aim of the school is to create Thinkers and Learners. Ofsted judged the school as Good in 2019, recognising the many positive aspects of the school’s provision. Please see the school website for full details.

Key Requirements & Duties

  • To provide high quality strategic leadership in all aspects of leading a school and inspire skilled and committed staff to deliver excellent outcomes for children
  • A successful career as a headteacher or senior leader and who can bring about continued improvement, with a proven track record of improving outcomes for all children
  • Strong knowledge of SEND and a commitment to inclusive education for children of all abilities and backgrounds
  • A key part of the Trust Leadership Team and to support the Trust’s educational, operational and growth aims
  • Excellent leadership and teaching skills, using your knowledge of successful evidence-based strategies
  • A commitment to learn from, share and develop excellent practice across the Trust, supported by and working closely with the Trust School Improvement Lead, to improve children’s life chances and global awareness.
