Job overview

Due to expansion Two Rivers High School are looking to recruit an Inclusion Assistant on a permanent contract to join our excellent team, either on a 30 or 32.5 hour per week contract, term time only. Required to start as soon as possible. Our school was judged by Ofsted (Jan 2019) to be outstanding.

 

30hrs/week: Monday-Friday (Term-time only)                                   

Salary range: £23,194 - £25,878 (FTE 37 hours)                                  

£16,175 pa (actual salary)          


32.5hrs/week: Monday-Friday (Term time only)

Salary range: £23,194 - £25,878 (FTE 37 hours)

£17,523 pa (actual salary)

Key Requirements:

NVQ3 or equivalent qualification and experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can provide a range of support strategies to help overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside school
  • Work in conjunction with the pastoral team to support the integration of students who have joined school under difficult circumstances or are on a managed move;
  • Support student reintegration after fixed term exclusions, or on student return to the classroom after a time of isolation or exclusion;
  • Provide academic or pastoral mentoring for specific students in order to raise self-esteem and confidence;
  • Liaise with the pastoral team, SENCo, parents and other agencies to provide inclusion strategies for identified students and to ensure needs are fully addressed;
  • Can deal with examples of poor behaviour that cannot be contained in the classroom;
  • Can develop a 1:1 mentoring relationship with identified students needing support to meet deadlines and improve predicted grades;
  • Work proactively supervising students who are not attending all lessons for a variety of reasons;
  • Liaise with subject teachers of identified students to organise work when necessary;
  • Respond to requests from teachers to remove specific students from the classroom and
  • Organise, when appropriate, or support extra curricular activities for disaffected students in order to raise their self-esteem and encourage them to co-operate with others.
