Job overview

The Music Graduate Assistant will gain valuable and varied experience in a role which is a steppingstone into the teaching profession. The successful candidate’s time will be split between the Mill Hill School (MHS) campus and Mill Hill International (MHI) School, which are 5 minutes' walk apart. The roles completed at MHI will be fundamental to the smooth operating of the School and range from administration, cover and teaching assistant roles.

Whilst at Mill Hill School, the incumbent would be functioning as part of a Music team and be based in the Music School. Depending upon their knowledge base, the Music Graduate Assistant will work administratively helping to co-ordinate the visiting music teachers, lead co-curricular activities, lead and assist with ensembles and have the opportunity to support the Music School. This role is for the remainder of the academic year with the possibility of extension for a second year. As part of a nine-person team, they will also support the smooth running of the boarding and co-curricular aspects of the two schools, Mill Hill International and Mill Hill School, during evenings and weekends. The Foundation would be especially interested in candidates with a musical background.

The Mill Hill School Foundation educates boys and girls from 3–18, seeking to equip them for life, both now and in the future. Our stimulating academic environment and numerous activities outside the classroom encourage learning and personal growth. We are committed to the development of every pupil and believe that our friendly and supportive community helps this to happen. We seek as a Foundation to instil a love for learning which will last a life time, whilst balancing this with a readiness to embrace change.

Closing date for applications: 5pm on Friday 10 December 2021.

For any queries regarding the role please contact Herpal Bhachu, Office Manager on h.bhachu@millhill.org.uk or visit our website to find out more.

The School also reserves the right to interview candidates ahead of the closing date and applications will be considered as they are received.

The Foundation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
