Job overview

Leicester Grammar School Trust is a family of three independent co-educational day schools based in Great Glen, South Leicestershire on a purpose built green field site.

We are looking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Pool and Sports Centre Manager to cover a colleague’s maternity leave, to start in March/April 2021. The successful applicant will be required to effectively manage the running of our Pool and Sports Centre facilities and staff, to provide a safe and inviting environment for our students to learn and external visitors to feel welcomed.

Our ideal candidate will have a proven record of a commercial sports centre operation along with strong experience in team management and development. Experience of operational management relating to running a sports centre, teaching of swimming lessons, lifeguarding, health and safety and external hiring is a key requirement for this role. Previous experience of working within an educational setting with young people would be beneficial, but is not essential.

This is a full-time temporary post working 42.5 hours per week, throughout the year; working hours will generally be during the school day, with occasional evening and weekend work. Our Pool and Sports Centre Manager is a wide-ranging role, requiring a number of specific skills and qualifications. If potential candidates do not meet all of the requirements fully, interested applicants should still feel free to apply and any skills shortfall will be discussed.

A completed application form and curriculum vitae should reach the school as soon as possible, and no later than 9.00am on Wednesday 3 February 2021. Interviews will take place remotely the following week.

Applications should be emailed to Mrs Erica Parsons, HR Administrator, at parsonse@leicestergrammar.org.uk . There is no need to send a hard copy at this stage.

Leicester Grammar School Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and this is reflected in its recruitment procedures. Successful candidates for posts are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure.
