If you are, then Vision for Education want you! We are working with various specialist schools and alternative provisions who are using teaching assistants for short-term and long-term supply.
We are looking for inspiring, creative and experienced teaching assistants to join our bank team to work with children and young people (3-19) with a range of SEND. These needs include Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
We are looking for people who can build excellent relationships with children and young people who need consistent one to one care, who can use a variety of methods to communicate with young people and promote autonomy and independence. It is vital that you are able to have a real presence in the classroom and have the ability to work well on a 1:1 basis, as well as in a team.
Ideally, you will:
•Have experience working with children and young people with ASC, PMLD and/or SEMH
•Be experienced in using a variety of communication methods (e.g. Makaton and BSL).
•Have knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
•Have supporting qualifications such as Moving and Handling and Team Teach.
