Job overview

Thank you for your interest in the SENCO vacancy.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated SENCO with the vision and experience to play a pivotal role at The Keystone Academy. This is a truly unique opportunity for an ambitious, inspirational and talented practitioner to support the Headteacher in developing a brand-new school in the specialist field of SEMH and neurodivergence. We are looking for an outstanding practitioner who can bring creative and innovative ways of working within the Trust, local authority and wider contexts of education.

The SENCO will play a key role in the overall development of the school. Though the role is predominantly teaching at first, as the school grows the role will progress to a more focused SEND perspective.

Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team, the SENCO will have various responsibilities, including but not limited to, overseeing the EHCP provision for all learners, including annual reviews; designing supportive interventions, monitoring and reporting on their impact; providing training for staff to ensure a graduated approach to identifying and responding to different aspects of SEND.

The role will demand an individual with the vision and passion to develop the academy's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision and ambition to achieve outstanding outcomes for all our learners.

The Keystone Academy will become a beacon of outstanding practice in SEMH specialist provision, like the other academies within The YES Trust. You will have the opportunity to grow with the school and truly make a difference to some of the most vulnerable, yet wonderful, young people in society.

If you feel that The Keystone Academy may be the right place for you, I hope you will consider applying for the post.

I will be more than happy to have an informal conversation if you have any questions, so please do get in touch via admin@theyestrust.org / Tel: 01260 490042.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Mrs Ali Bellaby
