Haberdashers’ Academies Trust South is a Multi-Academy Trust of nine schools, (four secondary and five primary), supported by Habs Institute, the professional learning arm. These are currently organised as four ‘clusters with sites in New Cross, London, Bromley, Kent and Crayford, Kent. 

We are looking for a passionate and inspirational Mathematician, with the experience to lead Mathematics provision across the Trust. The post holder will work alongside our experienced team of Curriculum Directors to enhance the curriculum provision across our schools. 

This post is suitable for experienced teachers, who have held positions at Middle Leadership level or equivalent. We are keen to hear from colleagues who are interested in both full time and part time roles.

Key Responsibilities

-To act as the Trust Expert for Mathematics, ensuring the provision across the organisation is ambitious and innovative. This will be realised through:

-Leading ongoing development and refinement of the Mathematics curriculum, realising the ‘powerful knowledge’ strand of our School Improvement framework.

-Leading on the design and implementation of assessment within Mathematics across the Trust.

-Supporting colleagues across Trust schools to develop their approach to pedagogy within Mathematics. You will model and disseminate effective Mathematics curriculum and teaching and learning practice. 

-Providing bespoke support for departments to support in realising their long term development aims.

-Keep up to date with the latest research and development in the Mathematics curriculum community. You will be an expert in your field.

-Develop strong networks both within and across the Trust to further enhance the provision

-To build the profile of Mathematics across the organisation, through innovative and collaborative approaches.

Operational

-Act as a resource for schools , supporting in the development and mobilisation of talent and expertise from within and beyond the Trust.

-Be prepared to add capacity to school teams if required by teaching or providing additional leadership capacity on a temporary basis.

-Support review and evaluation activities. 

-Evaluation and reporting on the impact of provision.

-Promote equal opportunities and inclusion and take action immediately should this fall short within the organisation.

-Report any safeguarding concerns in accordance with our Safeguarding policy.

Working with others

-Work with school senior leaders and members of the central team to ensure school support needs and wider Trust priorities are met.

-Contribute to the development and delivery of high quality professional learning programmes.

-Contribute to the development and delivery of high quality professional learning programmes.

-Address the bespoke needs of different staff groups, using coaching and mentoring approaches.

-Share and disseminate research practice to wider teams, through writing for the Haberdashers’ Institute publications. .
