STEM Teaching Assistant (Science and Maths Focus)

We are seeking a Science graduate who has a passion for all things STEM and is keen to work with young people to build their interest, knowledge, skills and confidence in Science and Maths lessons.  Under the guidance of the class teacher the postholder will work with individuals and small groups of Years 6 to 8 pupils to model and explain core concepts in order to deepen pupil’s knowledge and understanding.  

The postholder will also support in other Year 5 to 8 lessons across the curriculum, providing support to pupils under the guidance of the class teacher.  

A key part of the role will involve providing teaching supporting in Years 6 to 8 Science and Maths lessons. The post holder will also be required to support in other lessons for pupils in Years 5 to 8. Candidates are required to have a degree in Science, strong numeracy and logical thinking skills as well as a willingness to learn.  

The post may suit somebody who is considering a career in teaching or someone who is considering returning to teaching.
