About St Andrew's Catholic College, Redlynch Valley

WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL

St Andrew’s Catholic College was established in 2001 as a Pre-School to Year 4 College with an enrolment of 89 students. It is situated in the Parish of the Northern Beaches of Cairns. The founding Principal of the College, Mrs Lauretta Graham, worked tirelessly to establish not only a world class learning facility but a venue in which the whole community could share.

By 2012 enrolments had reached 1650, catering for students from Prep to Year 12. As one of the newest educational institutes in Cairns, St Andrew's enjoys new and modern facilities.

The buildings have been designed to enhance the natural environment of the campus. They have been grouped on the design plans to provide for the needs of Junior Years (Prep to Year 5), Middle Years (Year 6 to Year 9) and Senior Years (Year 10 to Year 12).

Geographically, St Andrew's Catholic College is situated in Redlynch Valley and is part of the Northern Beaches Parish of Holy Cross. In partnership with the Parish, the College hosts Sunday Mass and a number of liturgical gatherings of students, families and members of the wider community in All Saints' Chapel, situated within the heart of the College grounds.

An overwhelming strength of St Andrew's Catholic College is the experienced staff who are caring, dedicated and committed to providing a quality education for all students. Overall program structures and philosophies are monitored by a highly skilled and experienced senior staff, whilst enthusiastic and committed teachers work to meet the individual needs of students, supporting each student so as to encourage them to develop a ‘love of learning'.

Through life giving relationships, members of the St. Andrew's Catholic College community journey together with Christ:

  • to celebrate the uniqueness of each individual
  • to experience quality teaching and learning
  • to foster active community participation
