Founded in 1791, The St Marylebone CE School is an outstanding, oversubscribed Church of England girls’ school with a mixed sixth form, serving students of all faiths or no faith.
A vacancy has arisen for a full-time Teacher of Computing from September 2018, to join our small and friendly team of two teachers. We require a versatile, capable and enthusiastic team player to join a successful department.
Applications are welcome from experienced teachers or NQTs. We offer an excellent NQT induction programme.

- The School is situated in the heart of central London, just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street on the tranquil Marylebone High Street, with Regent’s Park just moments away. We are close to excellent transport links (Regent’s Park and Baker Street are both a two-minute walk away).
- Successively rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, the School is one of the best performing non-selective state schools nationally.
- The School is a dynamic and inspiring place to work and invests energetically in the growth of its staff.
- We are the Lead School in the St Marylebone Teaching School Alliance and have 21 SLEs on the teaching staff.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
- The department runs OCR GCSE Computer Science 9-1, OCR Nationals Creative iMedia and Eduqas A-Level Computer Science. Our KS4 results in both subjects have consistently been between 88% - 100% A*- C.
- Students are given the opportunity to take part in a number of extra-curricular events, which include: Sky Skills Academy, CapGemini Women’s Networking Event, Women in Technology Careers Afternoon and the Apps for Good competition.
- Extra-curricular clubs run by the department also include BBC School Report, Code Club and Photography Club.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Evidence of relevant subject based CPD.
- Evidence of at least good teaching, leading to high attainment and at least good progress at KS3, 4 and 5.
- Commitment to enrichment and extra-curricular provision in the development of students.

The St Marylebone CE School is an all-girls secondary with co-educational sixth form in Westminster, central London. It is affiliated with the Church of England and designated a National Teaching School. Since 2011, St Marylebone has had academy status.
The St Marylebone CE School welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds, races, cultures, faiths and genders. The School actively promotes diversity and inclusion across its community and our students come from a wide range of backgrounds: 40% of our students speak English as an additional language; 59% of our students come from backgrounds other than white British.
The secondary school is located next to St Marylebone Parish Church and is a short walk from Regent’s Park. The sixth-form facilities are based in nearby Blandford Street. St Marylebone was founded in 1791 and it carries the motto "An opportunity to excel". There are currently around 1,100 students, 300 of whom are in the sixth form.

The school has been a specialist arts college since 1998. It has since become a specialist school in mathematics and computing, and in special educational needs. This level of expertise has ensured St Marylebone is a model academic setting.
