Job overview

The College is delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to join a highly successful, vibrant department in the senior section of the school 11-18. The school has just undergone an ISI Inspection in which the following specific outcome was made, “the quality of students’ academic and other achievements is excellent” with excellent being the outcome in all other areas of school life.

We seek to appoint a well-qualified, engaging, enthusiastic and inspiring teacher who will develop high levels of skills and competencies and enthuse students to love the subject.

The post would be ideal for any individual looking to broaden their experience or a candidate with experience seeking a new challenge. The successful candidate will be an exemplary teacher with proven knowledge and understanding of the discipline exhibiting a range of teaching practices and methodologies applicable across the Key Stages.

The position is available to start, ideally post the February half-term, however, this will not be a deciding factor in the appointment. Candidates should have a willingness to play a full part in the extra-curricular life of the College and be in sympathy with its Catholic ethos.

St Columba’s College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All post holders will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the role, including reference checks with past employers, online background checks, and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
