We are seeking a dynamic Geography teacher to join our close-knit and supportive staff team. Geography at Havant is a well developed and resourced subject that has seen considerable growth under strong leadership. As a Teacher of Geography at Havant Academy you will be required to: 

  • Deliver high quality Geography lessons to our students aged 11-16
  • Plan and tailor lessons which address the full range of learners needs
  • Have high expectations of all pupils so that they are able to achieve their academic potential
  • Have a good working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies 
  • Partake in the Academies rewards and behaviour systems 
  • Be an enthusiastic and effective tutor by creating an inclusive and safe environment, fostering good home/school relations, monitoring your tutees attendance and progress and delivering the tutor PSHE programme. 


For this role, you will have the following essential (E) and desirable (D) experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (E)
  • Teaching qualification in your subject of choice (E)
  • Evidence of further professional development (D)
  • A record of good or outstanding classroom teaching demonstrating passion and innovation in your teaching techniques (E)
  • Good communication skills with students, parents colleagues and stakeholders (E)
  • A clear understanding of the diverse needs of students and how to meet them (E)
  • Awareness of strategies to raise student attainment and manage behaviour (E)
  • Good understanding of the subject and its place in the national curriculum (E)
