Job overview

Teacher of Geography with RE

Part-Time or Full-Time

MPS/UPS

Required for September 2022

NOR: 990

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring, resourceful and committed Teacher of Geography, with the ability and appetite to take on some teaching of RPE (Religion, Philosophy & Ethics) at Key Stage 3.  Applications are welcome from both experienced and early career teachers able to teach throughout the age and ability range and to engender positive relationships with young people.  Both part-time and full-time applicants will be considered.  An enhancement to salary and/or a fast track into leadership may be available for candidates with the relevant skills, experience and potential.  The school offers an excellent induction for ECTs and would be able to support you through your first two years in the profession. The Humanities curriculum area benefits from a friendly, supportive team with a keen focus on creative techniques and a desire to improve outcomes for our young people.

These are exciting times at Alec Hunter, since our July 2017 Ofsted inspection graded the school as ‘good’ for the first time in its history, with the report noting that “School leaders have established a culture where expectations of pupils and teachers are high and improvement is rapid”.  RPE is taught in all 5 years of the school, and is offered as a GCSE option, through which we have an impressive track record of very strong results.
