Job overview

We are seeking an experienced, committed and enthusiastic teacher of Psychology and Sociology to cover maternity leave for two terms in the first instance. Both subjects are very popular at KS5 with outstanding outcomes. Many pupils go onto to read the subjects at university level. We would welcome applications if you are able to offer either or both subjects.

Ernest Bevin College is an 11-19 boys school with a mixed sixth form of 350 students based in state of the art buildings especially in STEM subjects, and with good transport links. Our last Ofsted inspection in October 2011 judged the school to be OUTSTANDING.

In 2017, 63% of pupils obtained both English and Maths at GCSE at Grade 4+, 33% obtained the Ebacc at Grade 4+ and over a 100 pupils out of a cohort of 150 went to University, 60 in STEM related subjects. We are an Elite Sports College competing at national level in a range of sports. We are one of only 4 schools in the country to have been awarded STEM status, the only school in London to have a Combined Cadet Force on site and we have recently formed a Cricket Academy in partnership with Twenty20 Community Cricket.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and staff. The position is subject to a DBS check.

The job description, person specification and application form can be found on our website. Visits to the college are welcome.
