Job Title: Teaching Assistant Level 3

 Base: Hilton Primary Academy, Blakelaw, Newcastle

 Grade / Salary: Starting salary until 31st December 2022: SCP 10 £21,695 FTE, actual pro rata salary £18,049.76. As of 1st January 2023, NET is implementing job evaluation for all support staff, the grade for this post at that point will then be: SCP 10 - 12 £21,695 - £22,571 FTE, actual pro rata salary £18,049.76 - £18,778.57

Term: 39 contracted weeks, 45.735 paid weeks, 35 hours per week

You will be an enthusiastic and committed teaching assistant. The successful applicant will show a passion and commitment to working with our children in their first steps in learning. You will be reliable, organised and have good communication skills to meet the needs of the children and provide valuable support to the class teacher.

You will be required to

 ·      Assist with the development and implementation of individual education/ behaviour plans.

·      Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.

·      Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom.

·      Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.

·      Monitor, evaluate and provide feedback to ensure pupil achievement and progress and maintain accurate records.

·      Liaise sensitively and effectively with parents/carers as agreed with the teacher within your role/responsibility and participate in feedback sessions/meetings with parents, or as directed.

·      Implement agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs to ensure they can access learning through specialist support.

 

Please note: the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This positive is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

National Curriculum subjects are taught discretely and through topics, this ensures children become skilled in Science, Computing and the foundation subjects. We are committed to developing an appreciation of the arts, determined to achieve Platinum level Arts Mark Award. Throughout the curriculum, British values of: democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs are interwoven.
