This role is working 38 weeks per year during school term time and INSET plus 6 weeks holiday to be taken during school closure periods.

About the role:

As a Teaching Assistant at Brookways School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will support the class teacher to promote positive behaviour, you will understand learning objectives, content and intended outcomes for the learning activities in which students are involved and you will support monitoring student progress. You will be part of a key team around the young person in order to maintain consistent support, communication and updated support plans.

About you:

Ideally, for this role, we are looking for someone who has experience of working within a SEN setting, a passion for supporting young people to learn and develop but more importantly, someone who wants to make a difference to the lives and education of our children and young people. About us:

Brookways School, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist day school in North Cheam, for children and young people aged between the ages of 7 and 16. We provide a safe learning environment for pupils living with autism (ASC), mainly Asperger’s Syndrome and higher functioning autism, who also face other challenges such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia and pathological demand avoidance (PDA).
