Teaching Assistant   – Grade 4

The Learning Alliance is seeking to appoint a number of temporary Teaching Assistants from September 2022 at Congleton High School. Working closely with the teaching staff, and other teaching assistants, supporting with the delivery of learning activities, and work programmes, including the preparation of materials and resources.  You will support and encourage students to develop their skills and knowledge, and give general guidance within and outside of the classroom.

The role includes taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under a system of supervision, supported by direction from the Headteacher, teaching staff and in line with school policies and guidance. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for the individuals/ groups and monitoring students. You will assess; record and report on the students’ achievement, progress and development.

A caring, flexible and common sense approach is important as well as being organised and proactive.

Salary is between £19,265 and £20,043 (FTE) - pro-rata dependent on hours worked. 

Hours of work are between 16.5 hours and 30 hours per week to be agreed with the school. Weeks worked will be 39 per year - term time only plus inset days. This is a temporary position for 1 year.

Congleton High School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy with a sixth form, located in Congleton, Cheshire. At its most recent inspection, there were 1,103 pupils aged 11-18 on the school roll, including 220 in the sixth form.
