24 lessons with resources used to teach very low ability SEN group and re-engage them with writing around Halloween time. My class were mainly KS3 but could be used for KS2 and potentially KS4 depending on your students’ abilities. I’ve created worksheets and resources for most lessons. Scheme may require tweaking in places to suit your needs but can probably be taught as it is for the most part.

Ancient Egypt (writing myths) SEN

11 lesson scheme planned and delivered to small groups in an SEN setting, introducing some ancient Eygptian myths before outlining the hero’s cycle. The students learn about each section of the structure, plan and draft their writing for each section and then complete an independent big write. Although the scheme is 11 lessons, I personally taught this over more lessons using reading lessons and developmental marking lessons to improve students’ work. Please note: This scheme contains links to video that are not my own work. You may wish to adapt as you go.
