A series of intervention tasks focusing on AQA Paper 1 and Paper 2 literature and language skills.

I am pleased to add a series of KS4 reading and writing intervention mini lessons based on all of the reading and writing skills for AQA Paper 1 and 2. There are also sessions focusing on the play ‘DNA’, the novella ‘A Christmas Carol’, ‘Macbeth’ and a poetry session - all designed so that pupils can work on personalised targets and skills.

The lessons focus on all of the tricky AQA Paper 1 and Paper 2 reading skills - inference, language, structure, evaluation, comparison and context and the key writing skills. The literature tasks also focus on the tricky AQA literature skills - inference, language and comparison.

There are extracts from fiction and non-fiction texts that allow pupils access to skills that causing a problem. There are also a variety of quotations from the play DNA’, the novella ‘A Christmas Carol’ and various poems.

The mini lessons are easily differentiated - they are also easily adapted so that they can weekly tasks - simply just change the extracts.

This has worked wonders with my intervention pupils and pupils in my main classes!
