This is a presentation I use for the start of an Abstract project with Year 12 AS Fine Art Students.
The presentation details current abstract artists that continue to challenge the boundaries of artistic expression.
There are artistic to suit all students abilities and interests, providing a starting point for students to produce a variety of outcomes from process painting, digitally enhanced artwork and even bring the techniques learnt back towards a more organic outcome such as the figure.
Finding artists can be difficult at times and this is a bank of artists I have gathered over the last few years.
At times I use the presentation as a visual reference point for myself, or to simply inspire a stale project on a individual basis.

A presentation detailing current Abstract artists, with varying approaches to media, form and colour, including the introduction of modern technology to produce artwork.
Artists exploring new approaches to Abstraction, stepping beyond the boundaries of Abstract Expressionism that has continued to sit on top of the pedestal as the forefront of Abstraction. Whilst many of the artists featured bare the ghosts of the forefathers of Abstraction, they continue to challenge the boundaries of artistic expression, when at times it can feel that no art is no longer new and unique. Artist's continue to push the boundaries of abstraction, inspired by the ever changing geometric architectural forms in environments we inhabit.
The artists noted are all currently producing and exhibiting work on the global stage, with individual approaches to abstraction that continue to challenge texture, pictorial space and structure.
Get inspired and start painting.
