This resource provides some context around the three set piano composer (Chopin,Brahms and Grieg) and their associated works. It provides examples of key terms to be found in the score by way of a description and appropriate bar numbers. The list of examples is not exhaustive but should provide enough material for your pupils to revise from and consider how they might go about answering the extended questions in section B of the AQA A-Level paper. You might even like to use the resource to create your own extended answer questions (5 and 10 mark questions) and set them as practice questions in class or as homework to consolidate learning. Alternatively you could use the notes to create a ‘flipped classroom’ where the pupil copies in notes from the document at home and comes to class having some understanding of the key elements in the set works.
