Arctic Themed Drama Lesson Plan for Year 4-6

Arctic and climate change drama lesson plan linking geography with performing arts to teach year 4, 5 and 6 children about this topic through movement and discussion.

The objective is for children to learn about the Arctic and climate change in a hands on and age appropriate way.
Whilst they are visualizing and acting out certain scenarios, they will gain a clearer understanding of what the environment is like, which will enhance the discussion and presentation time at the end.
From a drama perspective they will be incorporating team work, communication, mime, role play, and public speaking which should also help them to retain this important geographical information.

Activities included are a warm up, imaginative thinking and acting out, role playing scenarios and discussion time with a small group presentation.
