If you’re looking for a fun way to practise arrays at Christmas time, then you’ll love this present arrays activity which gets children writing equations to calculate the total number of squares on each present, then they colour, cut out, and stack the presents to make a class display. Super cute and easy-prep too!

What’s included?

  • two size options: the smaller size option could reach an approximate height of 57cm/22.5in. The larger size option could reach an approximate height of 1m/3ft.
  • three recording sheet options: easiest has students write one equation for each present, mid-level has students write one or two equations with symbols and spaces given as a guide, and the hardest level has students write one or two equations with no prompts given, so capable students could use addition or multiplication here.
  • display phrase: Present-ing our amazing arrays! or Present-ing our amazing array skills!

I hope your students have fun practising their maths and decorating the classroom.
